A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on her thyroid. Ironically this type of cancer has been deemed “the good cancer” for its very high survival rate. So even though she has been forced to go for treatment she is doing extremely well now. Thanks to modern medicine and cancer fundraising, it seems that the battle against cancer has been won more and more often. The goal is, of course, but no one should be forced to deal with this disease in the future. As medicine and becomes better and as fund raising efforts continue hopefully one day we will completely eradicate cancer as we eradicated polio.
