My husband is currently employed with a company which requires that he obtain maintenance training He only has six months to do this and two months of the time frame has already passed. I jumped on him last night about not getting this set up. He got mad and locked himself in his office which didn’t make me any happier. When he finally emerged from his hole, he informed me that he had just signed up with a company to obtain the necessary training. It can all be done online so he is happy and now I am too. We can’t afford for him to lose this job.

I will never forget this exmormon who constantly preached to me about being Mormon, how I was going to Hell, how his life was so much better since he had found Jesus, etc., yet he had gotten a girl pregnant and was hardly ever to see his daughter and he kept trying to play my friends. He was clearly a womanizer and I was completely unimpressed by this exmormon boy’s supposed better life. I couldn’t see at all how his life was more blessed than mine. I was happy to have the law of chastity and not be put in the position of single mother, being tied to someone like him.

The day I married my Mom took me aside at the wedding breakfast and very sincerely told me that now i was married I had to work at building my relationship even further with my husband.  marriage enrichment, she told me only comes when both partners fullly commit to the marriage and look for ways to make it better, the whole time.  This has stuck with m throughout my 30 year marriage.  Every day I make an effort to do something special for my husband.  Sometimes he notices, other times he does not.  I mostly get more reward from loving him in this way. 

My daughter gets married next year, I wonder if she will think me old fashioned to give her the same advice my Mom gave me?  I may  ask my Mom to give her the same talk.  My daughter loves my Mom and respects her loads -  after all my Mom is the best and wisest Mom in the world.  Arent all Moms the best?
