Nuclear energy has been around for quite a while now. It got a bad rap in the old days because of the many different accidents that happen, not to mention its association with nuclear weapons. People looking for Alternative Energy Sources felt it was unsafe. The radiation from these gases lasts for an extraordinarily long time, so it can never be released once contained and stored. But look at it this way, the volume of this gas produced by the nuclear power plants is small in comparison to how much nitrous oxide or air pollution is caused by one day’s worth of rush hour traffic in Los Angeles. So is it really a bad idea?
